Varansi Pan Bhandar

My father started this small spot years ago here at Bardoli Old Mundhwa Road. We just keep things simple. People come by after dinner or while they are working nearby. We spend a lot of time cleaning the leaves and getting the masala right. It's not a big fancy place, just a counter really at 26/27. Sometimes the rain gets in a bit, but we stay open late most nights. You see the same faces every evening. We carry the usual things, sweet pan, basic leaf, and some tobacco stuff for those who ask. We don't have a big staff, just me and my brother usually. It gets busy on weekends when people are out driving around. We try to keep the stock fresh because old leaves taste bitter and nobody wants that. Sometimes we run out of specific items if the supplier is late coming down the road. It’s a bit dusty outside because of the traffic but that’s just how it is around here. We don't have any flashy signs or anything. Just the name over the door. People know where we are. We have been here for a long time now. If you’re passing by Mundhwa Road, you can stop for a minute. We don't mind a quick chat while we wrap the betel leaves. It's a small life but it keeps us busy enough to pay the bills and keep the lights on every night.
