I’ve been running Sri Dayaram Pan over here in Amroli 4 for quite some time now. It is a local spot that most people in this part of town have walked past at least once or twice while going about their day. The shop isn't very big, but it fits everything we need to get through the daily grind. I usually get here when the sun is still low to set things up and make sure the leaves are cleaned and ready for the first customers. Amroli 4 is a busy area, so there is always noise from the scooters and cars passing by outside. It can get pretty dusty, so I’m usually wiping down the glass cases every few hours to keep things looking okay. I don’t use any fancy systems or computers, just a notebook and a small cash box that’s been with me for years. Regulars come by to chat for a few minutes while I put their orders together. Sometimes we talk about the weather or just some local news that everyone is hearing about at the tea stall nearby. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who stop in by their faces if not their names. It’s a quiet life in its own way, even with all the constant street noise. I just focus on my work and try to keep the shop running smoothly day after day without too much trouble. It’s just a pan shop, nothing more and nothing less.
