Shreenathji Gruh Udyog

Shreenathji Gruh Udyog is run out of No 169 in the Ayodhyanagar Society in Puna Gam. Since we are in a residential society, it feels more like a community project than a big company. We make various food items right here, mostly traditional snacks and things that people use in their daily cooking. You can usually smell what we are making from a few houses away, whether it’s something fried or some spices being ground up. It is a family-run thing, so there are always relatives coming in and out to help with the packing or the preparation. We use simple recipes that have been around for a long time. The space is a bit tight because we have to fit the stoves, the packing table, and all the raw materials into a small area, but we’ve gotten used to the squeeze. We sell mostly to the neighbors and some small shops nearby in Puna Gam. We don’t have a big marketing plan; we just make sure the food tastes good and that we don't run out of stock. It’s a lot of manual work, sitting on the floor sometimes to sort through grains or packing bags by hand. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, but that’s just life here. It’s a modest way of doing things, but it keeps us connected to the people around us.
