If you come down to Ring Road 13th street, you’ll see our place right there at H K P Road 536. It’s mostly just stacks of heavy sugar bags piled up high. The air always smells a little sweet, which I guess is expected when you spend all day around this much sugar. It’s a busy spot, especially with the trucks coming in and out from the main road. We spend a lot of time moving inventory around and making sure the counts are right. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and carrying, so we’re usually pretty tired by the afternoon. The floor gets a bit sticky sometimes, no matter how much we sweep it, because some grains always find a way out of the bags. We deal with all kinds of local shops and bakeries that need their supplies on time. Our desk is covered in delivery notes and old pens that barely work. There’s a small fan in the corner that we fight over when the weather gets humid. It’s not a fancy office, just a warehouse where we manage the distribution. People stop by to settle accounts or check on prices, and there’s usually a bit of chatting about the traffic on Ring Road. We just keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s just the way things go here, simple and steady work without any complicated stuff getting in the way. That is basically our daily routine.
