Hariom Pan Centre

My shop is at Shop No 7 near the Six Road junction in Bardoli. It is a very busy spot because of the six roads all coming together right here. There is always the sound of horns and people shouting at each other in traffic. I’ve been at this location for a long time. The shop itself is quite narrow. I have to stand sideways sometimes just to get past the counter to reach the back shelves. I make pan for all the people who stop their cars at the signal. They are usually in a hurry, so I have to be fast with my hands. I’ve got the process down pretty well now. I also keep some cold water bottles and sodas because people get very thirsty waiting in the traffic under the sun. The pavement outside is uneven, and I’m always worried someone might trip when they are walking past. I try to keep it clean, but people drop wrappers all the time. In the evenings, the street lights come on and the whole junction feels different. The crowd changes from office workers to people just out for a late walk. I like the energy of the place. It never really gets quiet until very late at night. I keep the shop open until the last bus goes by. My hands always smell like betel nut and tobacco by the time I get home.
