Double Deccker

Our place, Double Deccker, is at shop number 36 in the Shreeji Arcade. This is on Anand Mahal Road in the Adajan area of Surat. We are tucked behind the Bhulka Bhavan School, so we get a lot of noise from the school bells and the kids playing in the afternoons. The arcade itself has a variety of shops, and we are just one of the small businesses trying to make a living here. We don't have a corporate office or a marketing team. It is just a few of us working in the shop every day. The name is a bit different, but we liked how it sounded. Inside, we have kept things quite simple with some chairs and tables that are easy to clean. During the school holidays, things get a bit quieter, but usually, Adajan is a very lively place to be. We have to deal with the usual stuff like the sink getting clogged or a light bulb burning out at the worst time. We don't make any grand claims about being the best or anything like that. We just show up, open the shutters, and start cooking. Sometimes we forget to update the chalk menu on the wall, but people usually know what they want anyway. It is a straightforward life in a busy part of Surat, and we are just happy to have a steady spot in the arcade. We try to keep the place tidy for everyone.
