Crazy Cafe Dhosa

You can find us at Sunrise Chember on Varachha Road, right near Sardar Chowk in the Mini Bazar area. This part of Surat is always moving, and there is so much going on in the streets outside. We are at units 11 and 12. Most of our morning is spent getting the batter ready and heating up the big flat grills. Making dhosa is what we do all day long. It's a lot of heat and steam, but that’s the job. The Mini Bazar area is pretty crowded, so it’s never really quiet around here. People come in from the market with their bags, looking for a place to sit for a few minutes. We try to keep the tables clear, but sometimes we fall behind when it’s busy. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a small cafe where we know most of the people who walk in. It’s nice when someone comes back every week. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls. We just put out the food and let people eat. Some of the guys working here have been with us since we opened. We just do our work, talk a little, and go home at the end of the shift. It’s a plain, simple place, and that’s how we like it. We hope the food is enough to keep people coming back to Varachha Road and feeling like they got a good meal.
