If you go to Jolly Arcade on Ghod-Dod Road, you'll find us at unit U/4. It’s a bit of a busy part of Surat, and the arcade always has people coming and going. Our shop isn't huge, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need into it. We’ve been here since the arcade was newer. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live nearby or have been coming to us for years. We do a lot of repairs and small custom jobs that people bring in. It’s often just us sitting behind the counter, waiting for the next person to walk through the door. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles when the shop gets full, but we make do. We don't spend a lot on flashy displays. We'd rather just show the pieces as they are. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s usually a bit of chatting about family news before we even get to the jewelry. It gets a bit hectic around wedding season, and the shop feels even smaller then. We have these old stools that everyone sits on while they look at gold or silver. It’s not a corporate environment at all. It’s just a local shop where we know most of our customers by their first names. We like it that way. No big speeches or sales tactics, just honest talk across the glass counter.
