The All American Diner

We have been at the India Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road for quite some time now. The place has that old-style look with the red booths and chrome accents. It gets really bright in the mornings when the sun comes through the big windows. A lot of people come in early for breakfast before they head to their offices nearby. The weekends are usually a bit of a scramble with families and kids running around. We don't have a very formal way of doing things. The waiters carry around coffee pots and try to keep everyone's cup full. The floors get a lot of foot traffic so we are always mopping up. It’s a busy spot in the middle of a very quiet, green part of Delhi. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure the grill is hot and the bread is ready. Sometimes there is a wait for a table, especially on Sunday mornings. We just ask people to wait in the hallway of the Habitat World building. Our staff has been here for years and they know exactly where everything goes. We don't change the decorations much because people like the way it looks. It feels like stepping back in time a little bit. We just keep the doors open and the music playing in the background. It is a simple operation that relies on people liking the routine we have here.
