Standard Namkeen Shop

My family has been at Defence Colony Main Market 28/2 for a long time now. People walk by Standard Namkeen Shop every single day without thinking much about it. It’s just how things are in this part of Delhi. Some days are much busier than others, especially when the sun isn't too hot and folks are out for a stroll. We open up the shop early and get everything ready for the day. Namkeen is just one of those things people pick up on their way home. It’s not a big deal, really. It is just part of the daily routine in this market. The area changes and shops come and go, but we have stayed right here at 28/2. It gets noisy with the cars honking and people talking loudly outside. Sometimes the tea stall down the way smells better than our shop, but that is fine with us. We just keep the containers filled and the floor swept. If you are walking around the main market, you will see our sign. It is nothing fancy or modern. It’s just a plain spot where we sell snacks to anyone who stops in. I remember when the street looked a bit different, but the building is still the same old brick. We don’t spend time worrying about the decor. We just do the work and go home. The dust from the road is a constant battle. That is just life here in the market.
