You can find Mansa Ram Halwai at 880/6 in the Main Bazaar of Mehrauli. If you’ve ever walked through the bazaar, you know how packed it is. There are people everywhere, cows wandering through, and the sound of motorcycles constantly honking. Our shop is right in the middle of all that madness. We spend our days standing over massive iron kadhais, boiling down milk or frying snacks. The heat from the burners is intense, especially in July, and there’s always a layer of flour dust on the floor. We aren't a big corporate chain. It’s just a traditional halwai shop where we do things the old way. We don't have fancy packaging or a polished waiting area. People usually just stand on the edge of the street while they wait for their orders. The walls are a bit darkened from years of smoke, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve just learned to ignore. Dealing with the crowds in Mehrauli is a challenge every single day. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to finish the batch by candlelight. It’s tiring work that leaves your arms sore and your apron covered in ghee. We’ve been here long enough that the regular customers don’t even have to tell us what they want anymore. It’s just a simple life of making sweets and savory bits for the local bazaar crowd.
