Punjab Sweets & Caterers

Punjab Sweets & Caterers has been part of Lajpat Nagar D 56 for a long time. This neighborhood is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. Our shop is usually full of the smell of sugar syrup and frying snacks. We make all the traditional sweets that people expect, like gulab jamun and barfi, and we do catering for local events too. When there’s a wedding or a big party nearby, we’re usually the ones in the back with the big pots getting the food ready. It’s hard work, especially when you’re standing over a stove for ten hours a day. The shop floor gets sticky sometimes, no matter how much we mop it, but that’s the nature of a sweet shop. We have our regulars who come in every morning for their samosas and chai. They know us, and we know them by name. We don't use fancy packaging or have a huge marketing team behind us. It’s just us and the recipes we’ve been using forever. Sometimes we get the proportions slightly different, but that’s just how handmade food goes. We try to keep the prices fair so everyone in the colony can afford a treat now and then. It’s a noisy, busy place, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Lajpat Nagar is our home, and we just keep the fryers going every single day for the community. It’s what we do and we’ve been doing it for years.
