Down at 113/T-88 on Masjid Road in Jangpura, that is where you will find us. We are J & K State Handloom Development Corporation Ltd. It’s a bit of a crowded area around Bhogal, so parking can be a real headache if you come at the wrong time. Our office is pretty straightforward. We deal with the logistics of getting handloom products from Jammu and Kashmir down here and out to other places. It’s a lot of organizing and checking inventory. The space is filled with samples and piles of ledgers. It’s not the most modern setup, but it gets the job done for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone or tracking shipments that are coming in from the north. Sometimes the shipments are late because of the weather up there, but that’s just how it goes. The staff here has been around for years. We know the regular visitors by name. It’s a bit noisy with the street sounds coming in, but you get used to it. We aren't doing anything flashy here. It is just daily business, making sure the weavers’ work gets seen and moved along. Most days we are just busy with the small details that keep everything running. If you are walking down Masjid Road, you’ve probably passed us plenty of times. We just keep our heads down and do the work, day in and day out.
