Arora Namkeen Corner

If you walk through Lajpat Nagar IV Gurunanak Market National Park, you’ll find us at Shop No 6. Arora Namkeen Corner is a small place but we keep it very busy. The air around here usually smells like frying oil and spices, which makes people hungry as they walk by. We have rows of glass jars and big plastic bags filled with all sorts of snacks. Some are spicy, some are salty, and we try to keep everything as fresh as we can. The market is always crowded, especially in the evenings when families come out to shop. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, so most customers just grab what they want and keep moving. Our scale is always clicking away as we weigh out portions of bhujia or mixture. We’ve had the same people working here for a long time, so we have a good rhythm going. Sometimes the noise from the shoppers outside is so loud we have to shout a little bit to hear each other. We don't bother with fancy labels or anything corporate. We just use plain bags and tie them up tight. It’s a simple setup, but it works for the people in this part of town. We just try to keep the bins full and the floor swept as much as the busy crowd allows us to.
