We’ve been set up at 23-24 in the Defence Colony Main Market for quite some time now. The market is a busy place, and there’s always something going on outside our front door. We spend our days managing the trays of sweets and making sure the staff is keeping up with the customers. It gets really packed in the evenings, especially during the festival seasons. You can barely move inside the shop when everyone is trying to get their boxes packed at once. We don't have a lot of fancy signs or decorations. The focus is mostly on the food and getting people what they asked for. I spend a lot of time behind the counter, weighing things out and tying up boxes with string. It’s a repetitive job, but it has its own rhythm. We see families who have been coming to us for years, bringing their kids along now. The kitchen in the back is where the real work happens, with the big vats of milk and sugar. It’s a hot and noisy environment, but that’s the nature of a sweet shop. We try to keep things simple and just do our job every day. There isn't any big secret to it; we just show up, open the shutters, and start working. It’s a lot of hours, but we’re used to it by now. We just want to keep things running properly.
