The Sirsa School

You’ll find us on Barnala Road, right in the middle of Sirsa. It’s a simple school, the kind where you know the names of the kids and their parents too. The road outside is always busy with tractors and cars, so we make sure the gates are kept shut. Inside, it’s just the usual school life. We have classrooms with chalkboards and wooden desks that have seen better days. There’s a playground where the kids run around and get their shoes dirty during recess. We don't have any of those high-tech gadgets in every room, just the basic stuff that works for teaching. Some days it’s a bit chaotic with all the noise, but that’s just how schools are. We have some trees in the corner that give a little shade, and that’s where the staff usually sits for a quick break. The building is an old one, and we do our best to keep it tidy, though there’s always a bit of dust coming in from the road. We aren't trying to be the most prestigious place in the world. We just want the kids here to learn how to read and write and be decent people. It’s practical work, and it keeps us busy from morning until the afternoon bell rings. It’s a good life here in Sirsa. We just keep going, year after year, watching the kids grow up and move on to bigger things.
