Shri Karni Mata Shudh Shakahari Bhojnalaya

We are located about 20 kilometers away from Sirsa city on the Ellenabad Road. It’s a bit of a drive but we get a lot of people passing by on their way to Maleka. We’re quite close to the Radha Swami Dera, so many folks stop here after their visit. It’s a shudh shakahari place, meaning we only do vegetarian food. My family has been running this bhojnalaya for some years now. We start early in the morning to get the stove going. It’s a basic building on the side of the road. There’s enough space for trucks and cars to park outside. Inside, it’s just wooden tables and benches. We don't have a fancy menu card, we just tell you what's fresh for the day. Usually, it's dal, sabzi, and rotis. The air gets hot in the summer but we have big fans. We use the milk from the local dairy for our tea. Sometimes when the harvest season is on, the road gets very crowded with tractors. We see a lot of familiar faces every week. It’s hard work, especially standing in the heat, but this is what we do. We don't spend money on advertising or anything. People just know we are here on the way to Sirsa Ho. We try to keep things simple and honest.
