Sri Ramakrishna Vasathi Vidyalaya

We are located in M L Halli, right in the Sagar area of Shimoga. It’s a quiet place, mostly surrounded by greenery. Our school, Sri Ramakrishna Vasathi Vidyalaya, isn't some big modern campus with glass buildings. It’s a simple set of buildings where kids from the nearby villages come to stay and study. The day starts quite early here. You can hear the birds and the sound of the kids getting ready by six in the morning. We have a small dining area where everyone sits together for breakfast. The food is basic, just regular South Indian fare like upma or rice. We try to keep the place clean, but with so many kids running around, there’s always a bit of a mess somewhere. The classrooms have old wooden benches and the paint is peeling a bit in the corners, but it works for us. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. Most of our teaching happens with a blackboard and some old maps on the walls. In the evenings, the boys play out on the small ground we have. It gets quite dark here at night because we are a bit away from the main town. We just do our best to look after the students and make sure they follow a decent routine. It’s a simple life in M L Halli, and we don't try to make it sound like anything more than it is. Everyone here just does their job.
