Vivekandha Militry Hotel

Vivekandha Militry Hotel is situated at 14-A, Dadubaikuttai in Salem. We are right opposite the Shanthi Theatre which makes us pretty easy to find if you are in that part of town. In Salem military hotels are a specific thing and we try to keep that tradition going with the kind of food we serve. It is mostly about the meat dishes and the spices we use. The place gets really loud and crowded during the lunch hour when everyone comes in at once. We do not have fancy waiters in uniforms. It is just a bunch of us rushing around to make sure nobody is waiting too long for their meal. The kitchen is always hot and there is a lot of chopping and stirring going on from early in the morning. We buy our meat and spices locally every day so things are as fresh as they can be. The seating is basic and people often share tables when it gets really packed. We do not spend money on big signs or television ads. Most of our customers come because they were at the theater or they live nearby in Dadubaikuttai. It is a straightforward way of doing things. We cook the food and people eat it and then we clean up to do it all over again the next day. It is hard work but we are used to the pace of it by now.
