Dindigul Velu Biryani

We are located over on SKS Hospital Road in the Fair Lands area of Salem. We are right across from the Ponnusamy Kalyana Mandapam, which makes us easy to spot if you are heading towards the new bus stand. It’s a good location because there’s always people moving between the hospital and the bus station. Our building is a couple of units, number 2 and 3, so we have a bit more room than some of the smaller shops. Still, it fills up fast during the lunch hour when everyone is hungry. We don't do anything fancy with the decor; it’s just plain walls and sturdy tables. We focus on getting the cooking right and making sure there's enough for everyone. The noise from the hospital road can be a bit much sometimes, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been serving the people of Salem for quite some time, and we have our own way of doing things in the kitchen. We don't use any modern gadgets, just the old pots and pans that have been with us for years. Some days are better than others, like when the weather is nice and people feel like walking over. We just keep the doors open and wait for the regulars to show up. It’s a simple life running a food business here, and we just take it one day at a time without much fuss or worry.
