Argees Restaurant

We are located over on Ramakrishna Road in the Maravaneri area of Salem. Our spot is right across from the Melmaruvathur Temple, so we get a lot of people coming in after they visit there. Maravaneri is a nice part of town, it feels a bit more settled than some of the newer areas. We are at number 20, and we’ve been here long enough that most of the neighbors know us by now. The street gets fairly busy during festival times because of the temple, but on a normal Tuesday, it’s just the usual Salem traffic. We started this place to serve honest food to the people around here. The staff is mostly local, and they know how to handle the busy lunch hours when everyone shows up at once. We don't have any big corporate rules or anything like that. We just come in, get the kitchen started, and wait for the first customers of the day. The building itself is an older one, but we try to keep it looking decent. Sometimes the summer heat in Salem can be a bit much, but we have enough fans going to keep it okay inside. It’s a practical place for a meal, nothing too fancy or expensive. We just like being part of the Maravaneri community and seeing the same faces week after week. It’s a good way to spend the day.
