Loginn

Running a place like Loginn on Junction Main Road in Alagapuram keeps us pretty occupied most days. We are right across from the Sivaraj Holiday Inn, which is a much bigger spot than ours, but we get our fair share of people coming through Salem. The building at No 16-2/34 is where we spend most of our time, either at the front desk or checking on the rooms upstairs. It is not a complicated operation. We mostly deal with keys, registers, and making sure the linens are swapped out properly. The traffic outside on the main road is constant, and you can hear the buses and bikes from early morning until late at night. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always wiping down the surfaces. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know how the place works. In the summers, the heat here in Salem can be quite something, and we have to make sure the fans and the water are all working like they should. People come in, they stay for a night or two, and then they head out to the train station or wherever they are going. It is a very routine kind of life here. We just try to keep the place decent and handle whatever comes up during the day. There is always something to fix or someone to talk to at the door. We don't do anything fancy, just the basic work.
