Shukla Dhaba

My family and I run Shukla Dhaba out here in Dumardaga. We are located in the Booti area of Ranchi, right near the Choudhary petrol pump. It is a good spot because drivers pull in to get fuel and then they see us and decide to grab a bite. The place is pretty straightforward. We have some outdoor seating and a few tables inside. It gets a bit dusty being near the road, so we are always wiping things down. I usually get here before the sun is fully up to start the fire and get the water boiling for tea. Some people stop by just for a quick glass of tea before heading out on long drives. We don't do anything too complicated. It’s just dal, rotis, and whatever vegetables were fresh at the market that morning. We don’t have a big menu printed out or anything fancy like that. You just ask what is ready and we serve it. My brother helps me with the serving and my wife handles a lot of the cooking in the back. It’s a busy life but we like being our own bosses. The area around Booti is growing, but it still feels like the outskirts sometimes. We see the same truck drivers every week. They know where we are and we know how they like their food. It is just a regular life here for us.
