You can find us on Purulia Road in Ranchi, right across from the Kashyap Eye Hospital. Being near a hospital means we see a lot of families who are waiting for appointments or visiting relatives. It makes the atmosphere a bit different than a regular market spot. People are often in a hurry or looking tired, so we try to get things out to the tables quickly. The building itself is nothing special to look at from the outside, just a regular entrance on a busy road. Inside, we have some simple booths and a few rows of tables. The floor is tiled and we spend a lot of time mopping it because of all the mud that comes in during the rainy season. Ranchi gets quite dusty, so we are always dusting the ledges and the counter. We have a small crew working here, mostly guys who have been with us for a couple of years now. You can hear the pans clanking in the back and the sound of the mixer going off and on. It’s a bit of a cramped space when it gets full, but it stays warm and smells like ginger and garlic all day long. We keep the water jars filled on every table so people don't have to wait. It is a plain, functional space where the focus is just on keeping the stove hot and the customers fed before they head back out.
