Swadist Restaurant

Down in Janakpuri, things are a bit quieter than the main city center, but Yogeshwar Road still has its own rhythm. Swadist Restaurant is right here in the heart of the neighborhood. We started this place because there weren't many options for a simple meal around this part of Rajkot. Most of our customers are people who live just a few streets away. They come in wearing their house clothes sometimes just to grab something to take back. The kitchen isn't huge, so we have to be organized or everything becomes a mess real fast. We use the same spice blends we've always used. Nothing is weighed out on fancy scales, we just go by how it looks and smells. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit muddy, but people still find their way in. We have a few wooden tables that have seen better days. The ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it works fine for keeping the air moving. We don't have a big sign or anything bright. Most people just know where we are by now. It’s a straightforward life, cooking every day and cleaning up at night. We don't have any big plans to change things. We like it this way, just being a local spot where you can get a plate of food without any fuss. The 360005 area is home to us, and we're glad to be a small part of the community here in Rajkot even though it is a long day's work.
