Shivam Caterers & Dining Hall

We operate Shivam Caterers & Dining Hall out of 5 Vimal Nagar on University Road here in Rajkot. Being tucked behind Pushkardham Society makes it a little quieter than the main road, which is nice when we are preparing for a big day. Our dining hall is a large room with simple flooring and rows of tables. Most of the time, the place is full of the smell of big vats of food cooking. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand, the way we learned years ago. When we have a catering job, the whole back area becomes a bit of a mess with crates of vegetables and huge sacks of grain. My cousins and a few local boys help out with the heavy lifting and the serving. It’s a lot of coordination to make sure the food stays hot and everyone gets served at the right time. We don't have a lot of office space, so I usually do the paperwork on one of the dining tables after everyone has left. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s often someone’s kid running around or an auntie checking if the salt is right. We just try to get the work done and keep the kitchen clean. It’s hard work, standing for so many hours, but this is the life we chose in Rajkot. We’ve been at this address for a long time now.
