Sanjari Chicken

Out in Upleta, things move a bit slower than in the bigger cities. We are located at Gandhi chouk 3 kaman, in the Lati Plot area. It’s a working neighborhood. You can hear the sounds of the local shops and the motorbikes passing by all day. Sanjari Chicken is a small operation. We handle a lot of birds every day. It’s messy work, but someone has to do it. The floors get washed down constantly with the hose. I grew up around here, so I know everyone in the 360490 zip code. The Upleta Lati Plot has its own vibe. It’s not a place for tourists. It’s for people who live and work here. We don't have a fancy office. Most of my work is done standing up. My back hurts sometimes by the end of the day, but that’s normal. We don't use those shiny brochures or anything like that. People know where Gandhi chouk is. They see our sign and they come in. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to talk for a minute about the weather. The 3 kaman landmark is easy to find. We just focus on keeping the stock fresh and the customers happy enough to come back. It’s a simple life. We close up late, usually when the streets finally get quiet. Then we do it all again the next morning. It’s just how it goes in a place like this.
