Patel Vihar Parotha House

Our parotha house is situated on Kuwadva Road at Parevadi Chowk in Rajkot. We are right beside the Reliance Petroleum pump, so a lot of people stop by after they fill up their tanks. Making parothas is what we do all day long. The tawa is always hot and there is usually a bit of flour in the air. It’s a busy corner of the city and there is always something going on outside. We have a few simple tables for people to sit at, but many folks just take their food to go. It’s not a fancy place to sit and linger, it’s more about getting a fresh, hot meal. We've been at this location for a good while and we know most of the drivers and workers around here. My brother and I run the place with a bit of help. We don't have a big menu with hundreds of items, we just stick to what we are good at making. Sometimes it gets really crowded in the evenings and people have to wait a bit, but we try to move as fast as we can. The noise from the road is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We don't do any big promotions. We just open the shutters in the morning and start kneading the dough. It is a simple life and we are happy with it. It is a lot of hard work but we are used to it by now. We stay until the very last customer leaves, even if it is late.
