Mr Idli Restaurant

You can find us in the Elegance Building, right on the 150 Feet Ring Road. We’re pretty close to Indira Circle, so there’s a lot of traffic passing by all day long. Rajkot is a fast-growing city, but we like to keep things at a steady pace. We focus on South Indian food, mostly idlis and such. It’s what we know how to make well. The restaurant isn't overly decorated. We just have some simple tables and chairs and enough light to see your plate. We spend more time in the kitchen than thinking about the wallpaper. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the place cool when the sun is beating down on the Ring Road. We get a lot of families coming in on Sunday mornings. It gets loud with all the kids, but we don't mind. We use the same recipes we’ve had for a long time. There's no fancy chef in the back, just us and some help we hired from the neighborhood. We buy our lentils and rice in big sacks from the wholesale market. If we run out of something, we just cross it off the menu for the day. It’s not a corporate operation. We’re just running a restaurant. If you're driving around the circle and feel like a snack, stop in. We’re usually there making sure the batter is ready for the next batch and the plates are clean.
