Krishna Kathiyawadi Kitchen

If you are driving down National Highway No 8 B near Rajkot, you will probably see our sign. Krishna Kathiyawadi Kitchen is situated right near Kuvadva, just opposite the Wankaner Cross Road. It is a busy spot because of all the trucks and cars passing through 360001. We started this kitchen because we like food and the highway needed a place where people could sit down for a bit. It’s mostly open air and gets a bit dusty when the wind blows hard off the road, but that is part of the experience here. We cook things the way we do at home. There is no fancy menu with pictures. We just tell you what is fresh today. The stoves are going almost all the time. Sometimes we run out of something popular and we just have to tell the customers to wait or try something else. My family helps out a lot with the chopping and the serving. It is hard work being on the highway because the hours are long and you never know when a big group will show up. We don't use any secret recipes or special machines. It's just a regular kitchen with heavy pots and a lot of heat. If you’re looking for a shiny restaurant, this isn't it. But if you’re hungry and passing by Wankaner Cross Road, we are usually here.
