Sur Masala is located on Manjari Road in the Mahadeonagar area of Hadapsar. We are right across from the Navratna Mangal Karyalay, so it’s easy to find us if you’re looking for the wedding hall. We started this because we knew how to mix spices and thought we could sell them. It’s a small place, mostly just a work area and a counter at the front. We spend the days measuring out powders and mixing them according to the old ways we learned. The smell of roasted cumin and cloves is always strong here. We don't have a big team, just a few local people who help with the packing. Sometimes we get the proportions slightly different, but that’s what happens when you do things by hand instead of using a giant factory. We don't have a website with pretty pictures. People just come in and tell us what they’re cooking, and we give them the right masala for it. The shop gets hot in the summer because of the grinding machines, but we keep a fan running. We aren't trying to become a huge brand; we just want to serve the folks around Hadapsar. We keep the prices fair and the bags full. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we like seeing the same faces come back every week. It’s just a regular local business doing what we know how to do best.
