Ram Krishna

Ram Krishna is our little shop located in Old Sangavi. It is a neighborhood spot where we sell all the basic things a person might need for their home, like lentils, rice, soap, and other daily essentials. The shop isn't very big, so we have items stacked all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a long stick with a hook to get some of the things down from the high shelves. It is a very old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We have been in Old Sangavi for many years, so we know the families who live on our street quite well. We see the same people every day, and we usually spend a bit of time chatting about their kids or the local gossip. We don't have a computer or any digital scanners. Everything is added up in our heads or on a small calculator we keep near the cash drawer. The shop can get quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually sit near the front door where there is a bit of a breeze. We enjoy being a part of the daily life here. It’s a simple business without any big plans for expansion. We just want to keep the shelves stocked and serve our neighbors as best as we can. When it rains, the water sometimes splashes in from the street, but we just wipe it up and keep going.
