Karnatak Tikkha

We are located at 27/13 in Chinchwad, under the name Karnatak Tikkha. As the name suggests, we don't go easy on the spices here. The kitchen always smells like roasted chilies and garlic, which sometimes makes us sneeze when we’re prepping the masalas. We get our ingredients from the local market early in the morning to make sure everything is ready by the time the first customers show up. The shop itself is quite plain, with just enough room for a few people to sit comfortably. We’ve got some old fans that hum a lot, but they keep the air moving when it gets humid. It’s mostly just us back there cooking and one person handling the cash and the serving. We don't use any fancy machines, just a lot of hand-chopping and stirring big pots. The neighborhood around 27/13 is mostly residential and small shops, so we know our neighbors pretty well. They come in for a quick dinner when they don't feel like cooking at home. Sometimes the wait is a bit long if we have a lot of orders at once, but we try to be honest about the time. It’s a small, family-run kind of place where the focus is just on the stove and the plates. We keep it simple because that’s what we know how to do. We usually finish up the cleaning and lock the doors well after dark.
