Ishwar Masale

You can find us at Shop 304 in the Market Yard. It is on Lane 2, not far from Shivneri Path. This whole area is always full of trucks and people carrying heavy sacks on their backs. Ishwar Masale is our small corner of this big market. We deal with all kinds of spices every single day. The air inside the shop is usually thick with the smell of turmeric and cumin. It makes you sneeze if you are not used to it. We have been here for many years. My father used to work in this market, and now we run this shop together. We spend our time weighing out spices and talking to the customers who come by. It is not a polished retail store like you see in malls. It is a real market shop. There are bags stacked up to the ceiling in every corner. We still use old scales sometimes because they work just fine. We do not believe in spending money on things that do not help the spices stay fresh. Sometimes the market gets very crowded and it is hard to move through the lane, but that is just how it goes. We know our regular customers by their names. They know we do not do any fancy talk. We just give them the quality they need. We close up the shop when the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet. It is a good life, even if it is a bit dusty and loud. We are part of the family here.
