Evered Masale is out here in Tirupati Village, at Survey No. 54. We are in the Koregaon Taluka area, which is a bit of a drive from the main city centers, but we like it that way. One of the best landmarks to find us is the Padmavathi Temple nearby. You can often hear the temple bells in the morning or during festivals, which is a nice background to our workday. Being in a village means things move a little slower, but when it comes to masale, we are always busy. The smell of ground spices is pretty much stuck in our clothes at this point, but nobody here really minds it. We work out of a sturdy building that’s been on this plot for years. The sun gets quite hot over the fields in the afternoon, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early on. Koregaon is a place where everyone knows each other, so we see the same faces every day. We aren't a big corporate setup with glass walls; we have concrete floors and bags of spices piled up. Sometimes a cow wanders onto the path near the temple and blocks the way for a bit. It’s just a simple life here at the village. We focus on our work and try to keep things running smoothly. If you ever come by the temple, you’re basically right at our doorstep. It is a quiet but productive place to be.
