The shop is located on Dr Rajkumar Road, specifically at B/1 in Bhawani Peth. It’s a busy stretch of road and there is always a lot of noise from the traffic and the people moving about. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building itself has seen a lot of years. Inside, it’s mostly filled with stock and shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit around, so it’s usually just stand-and-talk business. I spend a lot of my day checking the inventory and making sure we have what people are looking for when they walk in. It gets dusty because of the open door and the street right outside, so we are always dusting things off. It’s a one-man show mostly, or maybe a helper or two depending on the day. People know the name and they know where to find me if they need something specific. I don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just kept in my head or written down in the registers. It’s a traditional way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far. Bhawani Peth is a place where everyone is trying to get ahead, and we are just part of that daily grind. Nothing more, nothing less. We keep the shop open late most days because that's when the rush really starts and people finish their own work.
