The Leela Palace

We are The Leela Palace, but we're located in Pondicherry on Amman Street. It’s in the Indira Nagar Extension, specifically the Gorimedu area. It's not the big hotel you might be thinking of in the other cities. This is our spot here at 14A. It's a bit of a dusty road sometimes, but it's home for us. The building is simple. We have a few staff members who come in every day. We deal with guests and the usual stuff that comes with running a place like this. Pondicherry has a very specific rhythm, and we definitely feel that here. Things move a bit slower, which isn't always a bad thing. We spend time making sure the rooms are okay and that things are clean. There’s no big marketing team here, just us. I usually handle the front desk and the books. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. We get a mix of people coming through, some for work and some just passing through for the weekend. It's a practical setup. We don't have any of those big fancy fountains or anything like that. It's just a building on Amman Street where we work. We’ve got a small garden out front that we try to keep alive, though the sun is tough on the plants. It's just a regular life here at the office for us staff members.
