Hotel Pondicherry Ashok

Being out here on the East Coast Road, specifically near East Coast Roadkalapet Beach, means things are a bit slower than in the middle of town. We’re located at 605014 and it’s a fair distance from the main city traffic. People come here because they want to be close to the sand. You can walk down to the water in just a few minutes. The hotel itself has been around for a good many years. It shows its age in places, like the tiles or the way the windows creak when the sea breeze gets strong. We have a lot of space, though. It’s not cramped like the busy city hotels. Families seem to like it because the kids can run around a bit. We have a restaurant, but the menu doesn't change much. It’s mostly standard stuff that we know how to cook well. On weekends it gets pretty loud with people coming down for a break. During the week, it’s mostly quiet and you can hear the waves. We don't have fancy decorations or modern art on the walls. It’s just a plain place to stay by the beach. The staff are mostly from the nearby villages. They’re good people who know the area well. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the location, but most people are here to get away from that anyway. We just keep the rooms clean and the lights on for whoever shows up at our door.
