Hotel Devi

We are located right on the East Coast Road here in Pondicherry. If you know the area at all, we are directly opposite the Government Fish Market. It gets incredibly busy around here in the early mornings when the fresh catch comes in. You can see people moving back and forth across the road with baskets and the sound of the market is constant. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s a simple building, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. Being near the fish market means there is a lot of local life happening right outside our front door every single day. Sometimes the traffic on ECR is a bit much, especially on weekends when everyone is traveling through to the city. We just focus on keeping the place running day to day without much fuss. We open up early and stay busy until late at night. The heat in Pondicherry can be quite something during the summer months, but we are used to it by now. Most people find us easily because the fish market is such a well-known landmark in this part of town. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It's just us looking after the rooms and making sure things are tidy for whoever stays. We see a lot of different travelers coming through, some staying for a night and others just passing by. It’s a straightforward setup we have here. We try to keep things quiet inside even though the street outside is usually full of noise and motorbikes. That's just how it is living on a main road in this town.
