Our office is right on Chandigarh Road, near Gagan Chowk. It’s a busy area with a lot of noise from the traffic outside, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend most of our time sitting at the drafting tables or staring at screens trying to get the dimensions right for whatever project is on the desk that day. It might be a small house or maybe a larger commercial space, but the process is usually the same. Lots of sketching, erasing, and then sketching some more. We have piles of samples lying around—tiles, wood finishes, and paint swatches that never seem to stay organized. Sometimes clients come in with ideas that are hard to do, so we spend the afternoon explaining why a certain beam has to be there for the roof to stay up. It’s practical work. We aren't doing anything revolutionary; we just try to make sure the buildings are solid and look decent once they are finally built. The tea guy comes by twice a day, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon when we’re stuck on a tricky floor plan. Living and working near the chowk means we see a lot of people passing through. It’s a straightforward business and we just keep at it, one drawing at a time, making sure we don't miss the small details that matter.
