Our office is at 22-C in the New Lal Bagh Colony, which is a nice enough place to spend the day. It’s a residential area, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office building. We have two main rooms where all the designing happens. One is full of books about building and old project files, and the other has our desks and the big monitor. We don't go in for fancy decor or anything like that. There’s a tea stall just around the corner that we visit way too often. Most of our work involves sitting down with families and figuring out how they want to live. It takes a lot of patience to get the layout just right. Sometimes we spend hours just moving a door a few inches on the screen to see if it feels better. The walls are a bit bare, except for a calendar and a few notes pinned up. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just do the work, file the papers, and move on to the next one. It can be stressful when a site visit doesn't go as planned, but that’s part of the trade. Living and working in the colony means we see the same faces every day. It is a simple life of drafting and planning houses for people who live nearby.
