Our office is tucked away in Bhupindra Nagar at 20-A. If you know where the Kwality Hotel is, we are right behind it. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, away from the main road noise, which helps when we need to concentrate on building designs. The space is filled with old folders and rolls of drawings from over the years. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit from our windows. Gian Chand started this and we just keep it moving one project at a time. It’s mostly drafting and talking to clients who drop by to see how their house plans are coming along. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone is probably at a desk hunched over a computer or a drafting board. Sometimes the smell of food from the hotel drifts over in the afternoons. It makes us hungry around four o'clock. We deal with all sorts of people, from those building their first small house to bigger projects. We just try to get the dimensions right and make sure the stairs aren't too steep. It’s a lot of double-checking numbers and waiting for permits to come through. We keep things simple here. No big corporate meetings, just us working through the daily list of things that need to be drawn or filed at the end of the day.
