Aggarwal Deepali Architect

If you look across from the City Heart Hotel on Circular Road, you will find us tucked into Shiva Enclave. It is a convenient spot because everyone knows where the hotel is, so we don't have to give long directions over the phone. Aggarwal Deepali Architect is a small setup. We have a few desks pushed together and a lot of shelf space taken up by old files and samples of tiles or bricks that we’ve kept from previous jobs. The Circular Road can get quite loud with all the horns and people moving about, but once you step inside the enclave, it settles down a bit. We spend our mornings going through emails and our afternoons usually involve a lot of sketching or looking at site photos. The lighting in the office is okay, but we prefer the natural light from the windows when the weather is clear. It’s an honest way to spend the day, trying to figure out how to make a building work for the people who will live there. We aren't interested in making things look like they belong in a magazine if they aren't useful in real life. Most of the time, we are just worried about where the plumbing goes or if a window is too small. It is a lot of back and forth, making sure the lines on the paper match what is actually happening on the ground for our clients.
