Sojourn is tucked away in Sector III of Salt Lake City, specifically over at KB 23. It’s a quieter part of Kolkata compared to the main city center, which we actually quite like. We started this place as a spot for people to just sort of be, whether they’re visiting for a few days or just stopping in for a bit. The building itself isn't anything massive, but it’s got enough room for what we need. We don't really do the whole corporate hotel vibe here. It’s more relaxed, maybe even a little bit disorganized on the very busy days, but we manage. The staff mostly lives nearby, so they know the neighborhood well. Sometimes the Wi-Fi acts up when it rains, which happens a lot in Kolkata, but we try to get it back up quick. We’ve spent a lot of time getting the furniture to look right, though some pieces have a few scratches now. It’s a place that feels lived in. People come here when they want to avoid the noise of the bigger streets. We don't put out many flyers or anything. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just wandering through the lanes of Salt Lake. It’s just us doing our thing every day, making sure the rooms are ready and the tea is hot. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s ours and we’re here most days.
