Bawarchi Ghar

Bawarchi Ghar is tucked away on the ground floor of Gobindanivas. If you know the Chinarpark Road area, we are quite close to Khelarmath in Baguihati. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of houses and small shops. Our space isn't very big, so things can feel a bit cramped when it’s raining outside and everyone wants to come in at the same time. We started this place because we wanted to do something local. Kolkata has so many eateries, and we are just one of them on this street. The kitchen takes up a good portion of the unit. You can see the steam coming out of the back door most afternoons. We have a few guys helping out with the serving and the cleaning. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the orders, especially in the evenings when people are heading home from work. Sometimes we run out of certain items before the night is over, and we just have to tell people we’re sorry. We don't use any fancy machinery; it's mostly just hands-on work. The lighting is a bit bright, but it helps us see what we’re doing. We just try to stay organized and keep the place tidy. There is nothing very special about the furniture, just standard stuff that lasts. We like being part of the Baguihati community. It feels good to see the same faces every week and talk to the neighbors.
