Azad Hind Dhaba

You can find us at Shop No AC 93/A along VIP Main Road in Kolkata. We are tucked in near the Reebok Showroom over in Prafulla Kanan. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always something happening right outside our door. This is a dhaba, so don’t expect anything too polished or fancy. We have benches and tables, and the kitchen is usually humming with the sound of pans hitting the burners. We serve a lot of people who are traveling along the main road or those who live in the apartments around here. The staff has been around for a long time, and we mostly just get on with the job of feeding people. We don't spend money on big advertisements or anything like that because word of mouth usually does the work for us. When the sun goes down, it gets even busier, and we just keep the food coming out as fast as we can. It’s a bit rustic, but that is the way we like it. The floor might be a bit worn from all the feet walking over it, but we keep it as clean as possible. We use the same recipes we’ve had since we started. It’s just us, some good heat in the kitchen, and a lot of hungry people looking for a seat. It gets pretty hot near the stoves, but you get used to it after a while. We stay open late because that's when people need us most.
