Aminia

Aminia has a spot right here at Chinar Park in Rajarhat. If you’ve ever waited for a bus at the Chinar Park stop, you’ve probably seen us right there. This part of Kolkata is always moving, with all the new buildings and the traffic heading towards New Town. We are mostly known for the Mughlai food we’ve been serving for a long time. The kitchen is always a bit chaotic with the biryani pots being moved around and the kebabs hitting the grill. It’s a big space but it fills up fast, especially on Sundays when nobody wants to cook at home. We don’t have fancy tablecloths or anything too formal. It’s more about the food and getting it out to the tables while it’s still steaming. The waiters have been doing this for a long time and they don’t waste much time with small talk. You come in, you eat, and you head back out into the Rajarhat traffic. We get a mix of everyone—office workers, families, and people just passing through. The smell of the spices usually lets you know you’re close before you even see the sign. We’ve been part of the food scene here for years and we just keep doing what we know how to do. The ceiling fans stay spinning and the water pitchers stay full. It’s a local landmark for anyone who loves a good plate of mutton and rice.
