Sher - E - Punjab

You can find us at Sher - E - Punjab out on Jessore Road in the Michael Nagar part of Kolkata. We are pretty easy to find because we are right near the Sukanta Nagar Bus Stop. There are always people standing around waiting for their ride or getting off the buses right in front of our door. The restaurant has been in this spot for a good while now, and the walls show it. The kitchen stays busy because we keep the tandoor going for most of the day and night. It gets incredibly hot back there, but that’s the only way to get the food right. We have simple wooden tables and chairs, nothing fancy or very comfortable, just a place to sit and eat. In 700133, the heat can be tough, so we keep the fans running as fast as they can go. The floor is just plain tile, which makes it easier to clean up at the end of a long shift. We get a lot of people traveling along Jessore Road who are looking for a meal before they head back out. It’s a loud spot, with all the buses honking and the traffic moving past. We just focus on the cooking and making sure there’s plenty of hot tea for everyone. Our staff knows most of the regular faces, and we usually know what they want before they even ask. It’s just a normal roadside eatery.
