Restaurant Swapno

Our restaurant is called Swapno and we are located in the Jarda Bagan area of Kolkata. You can find us on the ground floor of the Joy Matadi Apartment building. We are right next to the More Shopping Mall, which is a very easy landmark to spot. Being so close to a mall means there are always a lot of people walking by our windows. We get quite a few customers who are tired from their shopping and just want a place to sit down and eat. The space we have is not very large, but it works for what we do. We have a few tables inside and a small counter where people can place their orders. We do a lot of takeaway business for the people who live in the apartments above us and nearby. The kitchen is right behind the counter, so you can always hear the sound of the pans and the stove. It is a busy, real sound. We use simple plates and regular cutlery. My wife and I handle most of the work, including the prep in the mornings before we open. We do not have a huge menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to what we know how to cook well. Kolkata is a very fast-paced city, but we try to keep our place feeling a bit more grounded. It is a basic spot to get a meal without any unnecessary fuss. We are just regular people.
