Rani Restaurants

Rani Restaurants is located on Old Jessore Road in Kolkata. This road has a lot of history and you can see it in the old trees and the style of the buildings that are still standing around us. It is a long stretch of road that connects different parts of the city, so there is always a mix of cars, buses, and rickshaws going past our door. We are not a big fancy chain restaurant. It is just a local business where we do most of the work ourselves. The humidity in Kolkata can be very high, so we spend a lot of time making sure the indoor area feels okay for people coming in from the street. Our kitchen is usually a bit noisy, and you can smell the food from down the block when the wind blows right. We have a few tables and the walls are painted a very simple color. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the food is ready on time and the floor is swept clean. A lot of families who have lived on Old Jessore Road for generations come in to see us. They remember when this whole area was much quieter than it is now. There is more noise and more people today, but the general vibe is still the same as it always was. We open the shutters in the morning and stay until the last person leaves.
